Stonewall Jackson, But Not His Arm

There were some lemons in the grass within the fence surrounding his grave, and we asked a local what they were for. Apparently Stonewall Jackson used to do things to make himself tougher, such as taking unnecessarily cold showers and eating lemons. So people throw lemons at his grave!

We could have learned more because the Stonewall Jackson House and Museum is also in Lexington, but we didn't have the time.

Makes you wonder if people also dump buckets of ice water on Stonewall's grave.

Stonewall Jackson (Without Arm)

The grave of General Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson (where he's buried, minus his arm of course) is in the middle of Stonewall Jackson Memorial Cemetery. Several other members of Jackson's family are buried around him. His grave is marked by a large statue of him on a pedestal.
