A beautiful 1933 Art Deco Gulf gas station still stands on a corner in Bedford, Pennsylvania. Unlike most service stations its age, this one is fully operational. If you need your fluids checked and a fill-up, do it at Dunkle's and support this historic, locally-owned business. It's down the street from the giant coffee pot.

Jack Dunkle, son of original owner Dick Dunkle, died on March 15. His 1933 gas station, supposedly the last surviving terra-cotta one in the U.S., is closed for now and not dispensing fuel. The town hopes that someone will reopen it.
