- Hwy 11 north to US 20 exit. West on US 20, over the bridge, then right at light onto Lake Ave. Go under the railroad overpass. A few more blocks on the right will be the Ashtabula County Medical Center. The memorial is in the little garden in front of the front entrance.

The audio worked perfectly today. It sits in a beautiful little garden in front of the hospital. At the end, it also lists the other places in town that have something to do with the disaster, including the obelisk in the cemetery and the fire bell that was used to summon aid, which is housed at the fire station.

[Cecilia Duffy, 09/23/2018]The audio commentary didn't work when we stopped to visit. Mighty disappointing. The plaque by the commentary suggests a phone number to call in case the audio fails, implying that one may expect regular problems with the audio. Not sure what calling the repair number yields the unlucky visitor. Maybe it's a recording of what you can't hear at the site? We didn't call....
