In an annual parade, fisherman drag their little shanties down the main drag on the day after Thanksgiving. Fishhouses are normal buildings in Minnesota, as seen in the film Grumpy Old Men. Other events include crafts, food, and a visit with the Clauses.
South of Aitkin, the fish shanties have bunks and kitchens in, like a frozen lake shanty town. On any given winter night, there are about 25,000 people spending the night ON Lake Mille Lacs.
