You go in the shop and buy a ticket, some souvenirs, something to eat, then you walk down to the boat. You take a short boat ride across the lake inlet. You get on the bus which is driven a short distance, you get out and go through the cave you come back out. You get back on the bus which is driven. You get back on the boat and ride the short distance to the shore, at which time the totally hilarious commentary which started when you got on the boat comes to a stop and you are on your own to walk back up to the souvenir and snack shop and back to your car. Don't forget to buy the bumper sticker which says "I survived the bus ride to Shasta Caverns."
