Carl's Corner - Dancing Frogs, Willie Nelson-Branded Biodiesel

Sadly, this is no longer Willie's Place. It is now a Petro gas station. The Frogs were relocated across the highway to a private residence.

[D Pressinger, 08/12/2013]

Willie may be gone (from Hillsboro) but the Dancing Frogs remain. They now stand outside the home of a friend of Bob "Daddy-O" Wade, who made the frogs, and who still wants people to see them.

Dancing Frogs and Wooden Art

I'm glad to know that the frogs are related to Willie. Having arrived from Burning Man, I swore the owners had been on the Playa with me, my niece, and nephew. I drove back around to photograph them for my niece, who collects frogs. The sculpture had Playa dust on it, I'm sure.

[Kay Merkel Boruff, 10/18/2012]

"Willie" is Willie Nelson. The frogs used to dance outside his biodiesel station across the highway -- but they've reportedly danced in a few other places too.

Dancing Frogs Near Willie Nelson-Branded Biodiesel Truck Stop

The frogs can be seen from I-30 eastbound. They are directly beside the off ramp. We saw no other way to view them but we well could have missed it.

The frogs are across the interstate on PRIVATE property. Only way to get a quick and not-so-close picture is to pull over as exiting (going north) to Carl's Corner. Ultimate in yard art -- with great wooden nickel sculpture.
