[Mulvaney, 10/02/2010]It's a boulevard of nutty junk sculptures, posed on nearly every front lawn on both sides of Florence Avenue. Some statues appear to represent the inhabitants' hobbies or professions, and have sort of a Toon Town vibe.
Artist Patrick Amiot takes junk and discards and makes sculptures amusing enough to the locals that they haven't tossed them back into the trash. His work is particularly revered along Florence Avenue in Sebastopol. We passed some of them earlier today while on Bodega Avenue, but from a distance it just looked like junk. Should've stopped....
