Santa Claus, Arizona: Ruins of Santa's Land (Gone)

Only a few fenced off candy-striped structures remained of the long-closed Santa's Land, first opened in 1937. Those remnants were apparently removed in late 2021.

Ruins of Santa's Land

An interesting stop, but disappointingly the pink train is now gone. Also, there seems to be a renewed effort to sell Santa Land with a sign proclaiming "considering all offers NOW!"

Beware of snakes.

Santa's Land

I'm not sure what this once was, but now it's just a bunch of creepy, broken-down cabins with rattlesnake warning signs everywhere. Like many of the attractions on Route 66 it is a pull-over, so why not stop, but don't expect much.

Santa's Land has been abandoned for decades, preserved by the dry desert air.

I am usually not afraid to hop a fence for a good photo op, but the warning signs at this attraction were amazingly effective! With 60 years of holiday history here, we made the drive from Kingman, but Santa's Land is a bust and not worth the trek.

Agreed -- it only merits a brief stop if you're already driving between Vegas and Kingman.

For sale sign.

Santa Town is now for sale.

Ripe for purchase before the holiday rush.

Santa Town

Deserted "Santa Town." A grouping of small white houses with red trimmed windows. 'Private property' signs and a gate. The flaking santa sign is still readable from the road.
