Baltimore, Maryland: Phoenix Shot Tower
Vertical relic from the time when bullets were made using gravity and air friction. Over 200 feet high, the Tower was the tallest structure in America until surpassed by the Washington Monument. You can walk to the top up 300 steps.

This magnificent brick tower is located in a beautiful park setting in the heart of downtown Baltimore (If you're uncomfortable around the homeless, this is not a stop for you. This area is quite the gathering place for the less fortunate).
