Two years ago I was driving through Texas and stopped in the (very) small town of Terlingua (Big Bend area). We stayed overnight in the Easter Egg Motel, which was a VERY surrealistic sight in the middle of the desert: decorated on the roof with large pastel-colored easter eggs and easter bunnies. It was the only motel I've ever stayed in who had a 24-hour Sci-Fi TV-channel, and the same evening we were invited to a local party featuring a "Weirdest Hat - pageant". My advice: visit Terlingua - the Truth is Out There!

This place is now the Chisos Mining Co. Motel at Easter Egg Valley. It may still be a freaky deaky and fun place, but removing the pastel eggs and bunnies isn't reassuring.
