The Bulb

This long-lived incandescent illuminator was one of our "Light Bulb Methuselahs." In a 1912 fire station, the light bulb was first flicked on in 1929 or thereabouts, and didn't burn out until Dec. 13, 2019.

Mangum Fire House Light Bulb

The "Light Bulb Methuselah" bulb in the Mangum Firehouse officially burned out on Friday the 13th of December, 2019.

The bulb had been switched on in the late 1920a and burned continuously for over 90 years. Other, even older, bulbs are still burning.
