My husband was just tingling with delight at the prospect of seeing this and then photographing me in front of the giant artichoke.
[Sue B, 06/08/2023]The famous Giant Artichoke that stands 20 feet tall in Castroville was built by my grandfather, Louis Bertelli. He owned Bertelli Bros, Manufacturing in Castroville and built all of the machines to harvest artichokes.
The Artichoke is actually the second one; the first one was struck by a drunk driver, rolled downtown, and ended up somewhere in the slough.

It is big! We did not try the restaurant. Too early. The Giant Artichoke is perfect for a quick pic and be on your way!
