Brownie the Town Dog grave.

Brownie the Town Dog

Brownie was featured in the local newspapers at least weekly. He collected money in a can, not in a box, around his neck. He had an account in his name only at the local bank (now the Halifax Museum on Beach Street). He paid for his own funeral, casket, and grave. The mayor gave his eulogy.
