Woodstock, Vermont: Sugarbush Farm: Tiny Church

Built by the owners of a maple sugar farm. Can be reached by a short walk from the parking lot. Used for weddings and personal reflection. Bonus: free maple sugar samples!

This is a real working farm way up in the backwoods in Vermont where they still do things by hand. Visit their packing room and watch them wrap and wax cheddar cheese by hand and you get to taste 14 cheeses. Outside we visited with a bunch of farm animals such as goats,baby calves,sheep and draft horses.While maple syrup is made only the the early spring, we visited the real sugarhouse where a video was set up to show us how the sap is collected out in the woods with a sled and horses and brought back to the sugarhouse to be boiled into syrup. Learn that there are 4 different grades of syrup that taste very different.
