This rocking chair was definitely big. It is a little off the beaten path, but provided some pretty good photo ops!
[Tara, 09/10/2012]This was on our way as we were traveling from Virginia to Texas. We thought it would be way out of the way, but it wasn't. It was easy to find... I mean, come on -- a 35 foot rocker! It was bigger than we thought! It was an awesome place to take pictures, and our friends thought it was cool that we went.

I went in search of this chair on my road trip thru Mississippi, and found it pretty fast. It is displayed in front of the Dedeaux Clan Furniture store.

No sign of the basset hound, but the chair is still there. It appears to have gotten a paint job over the summer.

The rocking chair is not to be missed! We were greeted by what looked to be the cutest chubby basset hound dog I've ever seen. The people seemed to get a kick out of us; we took pictures and made a video to document the experience. I'm going on another road trip this summer and this is going to be a stop once again.

This is the world's tallest wooden rocking chair, reaching 35 feet (a metal rocker in Missouri is 46 feet tall). A slightly smaller rocker made by the Dedeaux Clan was eaten by termites, and this larger chair replaced it in 2008.
