An easy stop and snap. The "chicken" head effect of the Church By The Sea's steeple only works as a straight-on view, from just beyond the church parking lot. However, we noticed a large, unusual crucifixion sculpture on an exterior wall. Jesus appears to have leaned down and pulled one of his arms off its nail, to help a white dove take flight. Don't miss that.

From the side looks just like a chicken. Friends of ours who live in Madeira Beach and go to this church showed it to us. We have since shown it to others. My mother got it on video and shows it to people at home. It is quite funny; you can see the two eyes and the beak.

The church's round windows are the eyes, while the red tile roof looks like a beak and wings. The chicken has a ridiculous expression, and a Christian cross sticks from the top of its head. March 2014: Photo added.
