World's Largest Spruce Location
Short, easy walk to the impressive spruce tree just off the South Shore Road, about 2.3 miles in, just past the Rain Forest Resort Village on the left. There's pullout parking on the side of the road.

According to its sign, the World's Largest Spruce Tree is 191 feet tall and about 1,000 years old. It's really quite magnificent and easy to access.

Worth a look and the .3 mile walk. Keep your eyes open for the sign that says "World Record Sitka Spruce" and then park and walk in.
[Christy Shelton, 04/23/2016]The Quinault Rain Forest of the Olympic Peninsula of Washington State has the closest gathering of record size trees grown in their natural sites. The World's Largest Western Red Cedar, Sitka Spruce, Yellow Cader, Mountain Hemlock and Western Hemlock are found near Lake Quinault. Also five of the largest Douglas Firs grow here. Don't believe any other claims about the Western Red Cedar and the Sitka Spruce. These are the largest according to "American Forests."

The big trees are spread along the road and trails around the lake: the Largest Western Red Cedar is near the Lake Quinault Resort on North Shore Road, Largest Sitka Spruce is on a trail at the Rain Forest Resort Village on South Shore Rd. Other "largest" trees along the Enchanted Valley are less accessible.
