Jim Davis the creator of the cartoon cat was born in Fairmount, IN and lived in the Grant County-Delaware County for many years. The various communities are placing themed statues of Garfield in prominent places in those communities. Here is the Marion, IN Garfield which commemorates the sports teams of Marion High School by being dressed in purple and gold. Marion Giant Garfield is scheduled to be displayed at the Matter Park playground after suffering some vandalism at his previous location.
