Train buffs bonanza! Museum of railroad artifacts, big and small. The dining car china and silver collection is beautiful, and the most recent building addition houses an amazing working model railroad (look for the tiny sunbathing beauties). Our guide was well informed, enthusiastic, and engaging. Self-guided tours are also available. Even the fixtures in the accompanying restaurant were salvaged from old train depots and the music is appropriately themed. G-scale model trains run overhead throughout.

[Sara, 06/11/2018]At the Whistle Stop Restaurant and Monon Connection Museum, a hopper car is used as a sign for the Ward Quarry nearby. The museum collection includes other real Monon train cars along with an operating scale railroad running through the restaurant.

The attached Whistle Stop Restaurant was clean and offered an affordable array of sandwiches and entrees with four model trains moving overhead all the while.
