Dawn of the Dead Mall - Zombie Museum
The Zombie Museum is much better than just a diorama (which is what I expected from that one pic). Free (suggested donation of $1 to zombie "Monroe"). Zombies throughout pop culture, Plan 9 and Thriller included.

Go to Time & Space Toys at the end of the mall. The Monroeville Zombie Museum is in the back.
[Virginia Miller, 04/25/2010]If you're looking for the location of the famous Ice Rink scene, the rink was actually right in the mall. During renovations in the 80's it was demolished. The food court is there now.
[Wiggus, 07/17/2008]Re: Dawn of the Dead Movie Mall: There is going to be a Zombie Walk there Oct 29, 2006 -- an attempt to have the largest Zombie Walk ever in the history of the world.
Horror enthusiasts are invited to participate in a world record attempt for "The Most People Participating in a Zombie Walk". This event will benefit the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank. All zombies are urged to bring donations of non-perishable food items.
The event will take place at The Monroeville Mall, where George Romero filmed the original Dawn of the Dead horror movie in 1977.
[Greg Ketteman, 10/24/2006]The Monroeville Mall was immortalized in George A. Romero's 1978 classic horror film Dawn of the Dead. Second only to its predecessor Night of the Living Dead, this film is the definitive Zombie film, and the Monroeville Mall is the definitive stop for any Zombie fan. Only a few miles from downtown Pittsburgh, the mall is now quite contemporary and due to many renovations has not retained its nostalgic '70s feel. However, just being there evokes eerie memories of the film and its psychological terror and gut wrenching gore.
There are no plaques or statues remembering the film, but there is a picture of George Romero and some newspaper clippings framed and mounted by the business elevators. Besides the interior entrance to JC Penny's and a small fountain, there are not many recognizable areas of the mall. Based on your expert knowledge of the film you can, however, pinpoint certain famous scenes throughout the huge shopping center.
