Is it a brothel, or an art museum? It's a brothel, but they heavily promote a "museum" -- a room with walls full of photos and news clips. Currently under renovation, but the Short Branch Saloon next door is also a fun stop.

Brothel Art Museum

When we arrived at the Brothel Art Museum, my expectations were dashed by a sign announcing that the museum was under renovation. What do you do to renovate a bordello -- change the curtains from red to pink? For the story, head next door to the Short Branch Saloon and its owner, Miss Kathy (She said that the museum has been under renovation since 2011). The saloon is, in its own way, an attraction; a collection of arcana celebrating the lives and attitudes of the friendly desert rats who patronize it. From 12 noon on, Miss Kathy will welcome you with a $3 beer, and expects you to entertain her. [John Lukens, 08/23/2017]

Brothel Art Museum

Passed a little sign for the turnoff on Hwy 160, and thought it was a feeble lure out to one of Nevada's legal brothels. Then further south we spotted this large billboard in Pahrump:

"The oldest tourist attraction in southern Nevada... the only museum of its kind in the world!"

So it's either a legitimate museum, or part of an elaborate excuse for patrons. "Honey, I wasn't cavorting at a brothel, I was visiting the Brothel Art Museum."
