Lum and Abner were radio personalities and actors in the 1930's, 1940's and 1950's, with a long-running comedy radio program. They were natives of the Mena, Arkansas area (the nearby county seat), and the Jot 'Em Down store is located a east of Mena. The old store's now a museum and tourist stop.
I grew up in Mena and listened to Lum and Abner every afternoon on the local radio station through the late 1970's. Audio tapes of their comedy sketches are available at the museum.
