Macaulay Museum of Dental History

Just thinking about Dental Museums can make your teeth ache. But visiting one is not as painful as a root canal, we can assure you... The Macaulay Museum of Dental History is the pride of the South -- a large collection of dentistry artifacts on the campus of the Medical University of South Carolina.

The museum displays early, dangerous x-ray machines; historic dental implements, and novel tools for roto-rooting decay from patients' choppers. The collection is mostly what was amassed by Dr. Neill W. Macaulay before his death in 1983, after half a century chasing down Mr. Cavity.
