Easter Island Head

This is actually my grandfather's house and creation. He (Joe Stanke) and my uncle built it in the 1980s. He doesn't mind if people come to see it or take pictures of it, but please don't climb on it or make a ton of noise. He is a very talented artist and takes a lot of pride in his work. He is happy to share it with the world, but be mindful and respectful!

He looks great! Very big, and not made of concrete [RA: as we originally guessed], I don't believe. I knocked and he was semi-pliable and hollow.

Definitely just park at the Wendy's at the end of the block. Not a very long walk, maybe 70 yards. But no sidewalk or ADA accessibility.

No parking! I suggest the dead end road across the street, but be careful crossing, it is on a very busy street.

Easter Island Head

A few friends and I decided to check out the Easter Island head during a trip to Milwaukee. We passed it up the first time down the street and had to turn around. After parking at Wendy's we walked down the street to the head. It's pretty impressive and a very well done replica. However, after my husband simply stood on the statue, an angry elderly man shouted from the window at us: "Get off of there! What do you think this is, a public playground?!" And called us a**holes. We quickly ran off in fear of our lives.

So note: this is apparently not a public park. Do not stand on the statue. And do not piss off the man in the house to the right.

...and then at our next stop, when we simply plucked the emerald cyclops eye from a statue's forehead, the Temple of Doom started to collapse and we ran for our lives!
