There was a renter sitting outside, so we talked for a while, and that's how I found out these two structures were rentals. The boat is a short-term rental and the lighthouse is a long-term rental. They're listed on Airbnb.

Yep, looks like a big boat in the yard. Pretty amazing as you pull up on it. You will probably see the light house first. The boat/house is getting a little grown over and becoming harder to see completely. Maybe they will trim back a little.

I wonder if, while it was being built, the neighbors expected two of every type of animal to be brought in?

John Ringling's boat captain built this in the 1930s. His wife wanted to live on dry land and he wanted to live on a boat (with attached lighthouse). It is a private house, but to drive by and see it is quite awesome.
