A pre-fab, saucer-shaped house sits on a property next to Hwy 276. "Home of the Future" as envisioned by a 1960s Finnish architect.

Directions:: From Royse City drive south on FM 548 for five miles. Turn left at the stoplight onto TX-276. Drive two miles. You'll see the Futuro House on the right. It has its own little pull-off for parking.

The Futuro was a novel 1960s portable home designed by Finnish architect Matti Suuronen. This one used to be located in Garland, Texas in the 1980s-'90s, and later ended up in a field. It sat empty and neglected, was repainted orange in 2014, and has a fresh layer of graffiti added since....
