As of January 2009 the San Benito Water Tower still showcases Freddy Fender's portrait and signature for all to enjoy!
[Leo & Annette, 01/28/2009]I've always wondered where Freddy Fender was from. I found out! San Benito, Texas and they proudly display this fact and his likeness on their water tower. I didn't check to see if there is an annual trip to San Benito to pay homage to Mr. Fender since he did pass away on Oct 14, 2006.
