Glad we experienced it. Looking down on the gorge is thrilling and beautiful, but $26 per adult is a bit pricey for a second-rate Dollywood with a bridge. I wish we would have tried the funnel cake.

The Royal Gorge (and world's highest suspension bridge) is beautiful without a doubt. You can drive over it, but it is a much easier walk. The BEST thing about this attraction by far, though, is how they have taken it to the level of "Southern Theme Park!" There is a Minnie Pearl impersonator (at least that is what she seemed to be doing) comedy on the hour, a mini zoo, a not half bad magic show, death defying, bungee rides out over the gorge, and even gross carnival food (think funnel cakes and all you can drink sodas). The view was amazing and all but the food is included in the price!
[Jessica Beatty, 10/22/2011]There were some interesting things associated with the America's Highest Suspension Bridge, over the Royal Gorge. One of the side attractions was a miniature train ride, which took you through a series of "ghost towns." For example, you would round a bend, and come upon the "Town of Iron Springs," now deserted, except for a sign with the town's name, and an old set of rusted bed springs leaning against the sign. The former town of "Tin Cup" had a tin drinking cup nailed to its sign, and so on. Try pulling your tongue out of your cheek after this one.
