I walked the entire length of Harrison Ave. (Hwy 24) and looked for the welcome sign that notes the town's elevation and the statement "On top of it all," but it was nowhere to be seen. I did notice the large mural pictured on Roadside America and found several more murals depicting the town, its history, and the 10th Mountain Division. The downtown directional signs do include Leadville's elevation: 10,152 feet.

Cute old fashioned town. Good place to get some superlatives in (highest post office, highest craft brewery, highest marijuana dispensary...).

At 10,200 feet elevation, as the Leadville entrance welcome sign advises ("On top of it all."). Part of the Lake County.

The photo of the "On Top of it All" sign was snapped in 2010, and was looking a little weather-eaten even then. It gave the town's elevation as 10,200 feet, so perhaps Leadville has sunk 48 feet since then.
