Located at the corner of Olentangy River Road and Lane Avenue is one of the more bizarre monuments: the Cancer Survivor Plaza. I say bizarre not for what it symbolizes, but for its mass-produced bronze people emerging from a tunnel of concentric boxes -- it's the exact same set-up that the Cleveland Cancer Survivors Plaza has. Unlike Cleveland's (both of which were built by the (H.R.) Bloch family, this one also has a squat brick pavilion with granite ball that spins on a cushion of water. You can't miss this place -- its painted circus peanut orange and aqua. While there is a gravel spot to pull over and look at it, you can't park there -- you have to park a quarter-mile away and walk to it. What person recovering from cancer treatment can walk that distance?
