Hall of Hollywood Hoosiers

The Freddie the Freeloader statue is back on Main Street. A collection of Freddie the Freeloader statues were on loan to the Red Skelton Museum of American Comedy (They had been in businesses on Vincennes's Main Street). Now they are back. The Hall of Hollywood Hoosiers statue is among the collection of other Red Skelton items.

Freddie the Freeloader was a character made famous by comedian Red Skelton, who is prominently featured in the Hall of Hollywood Hoosiers.

Hall of Hollywood Hoosiers

Mark Kratzner has re-opened his Hall of Hollywood Hoosiers after a being closed for about six months due to restoration on the tin ceiling of the Werker Drug store. The exhibit is about how people from Indiana are a part of Hollywood history. Mark started collecting and researching Hollywood Hoosiers after learning that Red Skelton was from Indiana. He moved to Skelton's hometown 6 years ago from Anderson, IN, with his collection, hoping to help with the collection at Vincennes University. There is a special section in Mark's small museum that focuses on Red Skelton's career after Skelton left his hometown of Vincennes. Items from Skelton's stage, radio, film, television and personal life are on display.

Other small town Hoosiers have been involved in the Hollywood business from the silent days to today. On display are stills, lobby cards, posters and other items. Multimedia monitors also show clips.
