Giant version of the famous WWII photo of a sailor kissing a nurse. The original fiberglass statue arrived in 2007, was dismantled on May 30, 2012, and replaced by an identical statue of painted bronze in February 2013. Originally named "Unconditional Surrender."

This is the "mature" photo op most enacted by visitors to the statue. Our critique: Dean could work a bit on his hand placement -- and Louise appears more concerned about Dean dropping her than about the defeat of Fascism. Joe and Barbara also lapse slightly on arm position, but score extra points for wearing jacket colors that match the statue. To be true to the V-J Day spirit, the participants should really be complete strangers. The "immature" variant involves a guy standing at the base and looking up the nurse's skirt.
