Still adorning the local DQ. Make sure to stop by when they're open, May thru October. Inside and out the building is made like a runway, with flashing lights and even a cute airplane inside for eating in. Above the counter area is a video loop detailing info about the where the boilerplate came from and such.

The owner tells me that he bought this Apollo Spacecraft Boilerplate from a salvage dealer in Grove City, PA, in 1982.

To avoid using up all the really expensive furnished spacecraft, "boilerplate" versions of the Apollo mission capsules were created for unmanned land and water impact tests and other purposes. Some never went anywhere, but luckily this one nabbed a post-Apollo mission to encourage human-cone encounters.
