George Preston Gas Station Remains
On the day we visited, George Prestons granddaughter was there and opened the building for us. Most outside signs have been removed so the building could be evaluated. Fortunately, the structure is in great shape and can be preserved.

If you're interested in old Lincoln Highway mementos and memories, you should visit Belle Plaine where a Lincoln Highway Museum (called the Preston Museum) is located. In this small town is a great collection of artifacts from the early days of motor travel. In addition to the many signs attached to the building, there was what appeared to be a steam-powered tractor in sad condition as well as another antique tractor. While closed when we were there, the old signs, tractors, filling station equipment, etc. are still worth the stop.
