The Bird Wash that someone had reported [in 2007] was torn down this month and now just a vacant lot is there.

As I was driving through Eagle River I noticed the Eagle River Car Wash has a giant swan on the top. I was taking a picture, and noticed a peacock waddling about near the vacuum cleaners....surprising considering I've never seen a peacock in Alaska. Turns out there's a duck pond just behind the car wash with tons of ducks, geese, some swans, and four beautiful peacocks wandering around. Folks are welcome to drive around, park and view the pond from viewing decks. I think stale bread from home is welcome too.
