We stopped by. I think the hours vary, but they were open. They have a very extensive Native American basket and beading exhibit, one of the best I have ever seen. And the animals are still there.
[Lynette, 04/24/2014]I lived in North Fork when I was a little kid and one of my fondest memories was visiting this museum. They had a lot of cool exhibits; mounted animals with diorama settings encased in glass. One I remember specifically would be the foxes on the hills with the model train in the background to make it look like it was in the distance. I credit this exhibit with instilling in me an interest in dioramas, model trains and taxidermy (I went to school for taxidermy and now do it as a side job). I was pretty impressionable at that age.
I know the museum is still there, but I don't know how much has changed since then.
