Shoe Tree
This shoe tree is on CA 395, an hour south of Susanville, CA. There are hundreds of shoes and boots all over the tree.
[June, 11/05/2007]Approx 2 1/2 miles north of Hallelujah Junction on us 395 is south Lassen county's shoe tree. Occasionally removed, locals have prevailed and keep this local tradition alive.
It now has a graded turn-out to allow travelers the chance to stop and admire a bit of western Americana.
[Michael Rose, 10/09/2007]This Plumas County tree has shoes suspended from it and someone has written "Never judge a man by the shoes he wears" on a stump of a branch. The tree is located on N395 right across the Nevada/California border.

- On the east side of US Hwy 395, 2.5 miles north of the intersection of Hwy 70. About 28.5 miles north of Reno, NV; 56 miles south of Susanville, CA; and 54 miles east of Quincy on Hwy 70.
