- When traveling north on Hwy 59, at the very south edge of town when the highway curves to the west, go straight one block instead of following the curve. From the north, I-80 exit south onto Hwy 59 for 2 mi., turn left at W Lincoln St before fairgrounds.

Worth a quick stop, only about a mile and a half south off I-80. Amazing what you can find in a cornfield in the middle of Iowa!

This was our second VW spider, after stopping by the one near Carson City, NV in 2007. While still very cool, of the two, the Carson City VW Spider wins for better integration of the spider legs into the spider torso. Carson City also had Christmas lights in July that Avoca did not.

This is a giant spider made of a Volkswagen body. It is just sitting on this lot for no apparent reason!
