Despite its extremely long name, St-Georges-de-Windsor is a tiny village nestled in the Appalachian Mountains. Instead of building a conventional observation tower, the nearby towns asked Mrs. Josee Perreault, a local artist, to create an original project. They wanted a platform that would fit in a rural environment but would be an attraction in itself. The base of the platform consists of huge painted boulders that represent a cow lying in a field. The rest area is located on a hill which is apparently the highest point in the area. When the sky is clear, you have a 360-degree view of the eastern townships. It is a very popular spot among astronomy observers, both professional and amateur.
[Genevieve Lauziere, 04/21/2008]Local artist helped the town create a novel scenic overlook crafted from painted boulders. The boulders and painted head resemble a cow that has collapsed in a field. It's still the highest point in the area.
