My husband and I saw this several years ago when a cab driver asked if he could take us on a side tour. This was the most fascinating place. The sculptures are awesome and the movement of them was mesmerizing to watch. We loved it. It's a shame some had to be taken down.

I just discovered this website. 45 minutes later we were amazing by these amazing sculptures. Even my 18 year old son jumped out the car to take pictures on his smart phone. Yeah, a teenager liked it too. It's to bad they are tucked away in a neighborhood and not out for the community to appreciate this talented artist.

Eccentric sculptor Starr Kempf filled his yard with huge metal sculptures, some of which move in the wind. Neighbors sued to have a couple dismantled as dangerous, but there are still a good ten or so. Visited when I first moved here six months ago, when I took someone to see it in December, one had blown over.
[Mark Menich, 01/22/2008]July 2009: Bob Pearce received this response from the Kempf estate: "There are still 5 standing and three on the ground at the moment." Bob sez "None of the sculptures have 'blown over,' but rather they were taken down by court order."
