Grant Park, and the surrounding neighborhood were the setting of many of Beverly Cleary's most famous children's books. Area fans raised funds and had 3 statues made: Romona, Henry Higgins, and Ribsy the dog. There are also plaques with book titles and descriptions of Portland places that inspired them. These are fountains in the summer.
