Alley Where John Dillinger Was Gunned Down

On the night of his demise, John Dillinger never ducked into the alley after scrambling from the Biograph Theater. He fell dead from FBI gunfire right at the mouth of the alley. His head was in the alley and his torso on the sidewalk. The bystanders dipped handkerchiefs, paper, and hems of skirts into his blood to keep or sell as souvenirs. I have seen these ghoulish items actually being sold on Ebay.
