Beanhole Days: Burying of the Beans

The Burying of the Beans Ceremony is held every July. The beans, prepared by secret recipe behind locked doors, are buried in huge cast iron kettles and cooked over a wood fire for 24 hours. The beans are buried at the Pequot Lakes Trailside Building along County Road 11.

There is a Raising of the Beans and Coronation Ceremony. The bean pots are raised and volunteers serve a delicious bowl of beans, bun and lemonade to thousands of attendees. The coronation of the Bean Hole Royalty is a special feature. (At the Pequot Lakes Trailside Building)

This festival occurs yearly during July -- dates varying each year.
