I visited this McDonald's today, and the space shuttle is gone! It's now just a regular outdoor play area. Drat!
[Andrea, 06/05/2010]Space Shuttle McDonald's
Lame extension over the playland array. A McDonald's with a clear plastic Space Shuttle bolted to the roof of its Playland -- more of a roof ornament. The kids can crawl up into and through it. Pretty pathetic.
[Roadsideamerica.com Team, 09/01/2001]Today we visited the New England Air Museum right by Bradley International Airport. The museum itself is terrific (lots of restored airplanes from WWI up to Desert Storm) and well worth a visit. The most memorable thing we saw, though, was on Route 75, about a mile before the Museum entrance: a McDonald's shaped like a space shuttle. The roof of the "kiddie playground" part of the McDonald's has been redone to look exactly like a space shuttle. It's called "McBrad," and I assume is free as long as you buy something at the restaurant.
