Giant Freak Armadillo

Sparkly! Didn't see glowing eyes or smoking nostrils. It was, however, middle of the day....

Armadillo at night.

Giant Armadillo

A double-feature attraction: an enormous, longhorned armadillo; and Goode's BBQ. Despite how tasty the BBQ was, I think the armadillo may be the more awesome of the two. His eyes change color!

[Jeanie, 12/30/2012]

The behemoth, steel-plated armadillo has mesmerized onlookers since 2008.

Smells amazing around it! Very cool armadillo!

Don't miss out on the classic buffet line and bench seating of one of Houston's traditional BBQ huts -- Goode's BBQ on-site. Savor the view of the giant armadillo with a paper plate full of Texas BBQ.

Antlered armadillo.

Giant Freak Armadillo

Great place for happy hour. Parking is tight. Get there early.

[Maria, 05/25/2010]

Appreciate the parking advice. Some travelers may be looking for a spot to just pull off and take a photo, but kicking back near the antlered armadillo sounds inviting...
