Henderson, Kentucky: Big Cartoon Wolf Statue

Looks like something out of an old Looney Tunes short. Maybe 15 feet tall. Formerly a fiberglass mascot for a car dealership named "Dempewolf."

North edge of the city, on the northbound side of US Hwy 41, just south of its stoplight intersection with Watson Lane. The statue is at the south edge of the property, set back far from the highway, behind a fence.

Big Cartoon Wolf Statue

I drove around the Ford Dealership, but didn't see the statue. I drove to the back but didn't get out of my car, so maybe it is behind the building, only visible if you exit your car and walk over to the fence. This was during the weekend of 6/18/2023.

The statue is just south of the Ford Dealership, set far back from the highway, behind a fence, by the tree line.

Can't get close, but there he is! Very back of a car dealership...

While the dealership is visible from the road, the statue did not appear to be. I drove by but couldn't locate it, so we continued on without checking it off the list.

In 2019 the car dealership changed owners and the statue was moved to a back corner of the property, behind a fence.

Cartoon Wolf

On U.S. 41 north, on the right, is a Muffler Man-sized cartoon wolf outside the Dempewolf car dealership. (I initially suspected he might be an M-Man in wolf's clothing, but upon closer examination, I determined that he was too scrawny; he is indeed an original creation.) A little further north, on the left side of the road, is a Dodge Viper dealership with a car mounted atop the sign in front.

[Emily Priddy and Ron Warnick, 03/21/2000]

The wolf wears a red shirt and yellow pants (with its tail comically sticking through a hole in the back), has a big nose and cartoon eyes, and holds its right forefinger aloft as if twirling a car key. August 2020: Photo added.
