[Patsy Lewis, 08/30/2019]We had a youth camp at this park, now called "Big Chair Resort." Apparently more appropriate. We had a great time and were very impressed. The children all caught trout from their stocked pond, played baseball and football in the huge grassy field below the chair, had a cookout and a camp out. There is a very unique and large stage below the chair -- they showed us pictures from an annual talent competition search and competition they host.

We were a little less impressed with this chair than we were with the Route 66 Rocker in Fanning, Mo. The Easy Glider seems to have started as a large chair, but morphed into more of a party deck that kind of resembles a chair. To my wife and I, the more useful a large chair becomes, the less interesting it gets.

The World's Largest [Log] Chair, named Easy Glider, is located at the entrance to the Easy Glider Biker R&R Park. It's in between Deadwood and Hill City in a county. Make sure to pick up a map of The Black Hills and Badlands area, located in almost every convenience store and restaurant in the area. The map has several tourist sites, including the Easy Glider, listed on it. The Easy Glider is tucked away behind Kaktus Kim's restaurant, and it's easy to miss from the road, so look for the sign.
While you're there, make sure to enjoy some nachos and a cold beer at Kaktus Kim's. The Easy Glider has tables and benches set up for you to enjoy your food and drinks outside.

We've noticed several compromises in the big rocker world -- Easy Glider risks becoming a rustic party platform instead of a formidable piece of giant furniture. For Fanning, MO it's their in-your-face Route 66 branding, as if we might forget. And none of the larger rockers we've seen literally rock, undermining the whole claim. Anyone been on a giant rocker that rocks? March 2010 - Easy Glider owner Frankie Boyle points out: "We have never claimed that the chair would rock. The chair is all native wood, no steel, etc... It's a log chair." No rocker.
