Bronze Fonz

History's Skid Marks, August 19, 2008: Bronze Fonz is unveiled in Milwaukee, the fictional location of "Happy Days," a 1970s sitcom about the 1950s. Series star Arthur "Fonzie" Fonzarelli (Henry Winkler) was a role model for a generation of retro-cool rebels (at least, until he jumped that shark), and was on-hand for the dedication. His bronze statue, paid for by Milwaukee civic groups, was one of the first depicting a sitcom celeb with weird, golden skin -- it was supposed to evoke an Oscar statue -- and colorized clothes.

Bronze Fonz is starting to develop some wear on his crotch. Evidently it is popular for ladies (probably some dudes, too) to rub Fonzie's crotch for good luck.
