150 cakes from around the world were part of the late Frances Kuyper's garage museum, moved from her Pasadena retirement home to New Orleans in late 2012, promised as a permanent Sugar Gallery exhibit; 2016: apparently in storage.

[Collection moved to New Orleans, 2012] The Mini-Cake museum is at 432 Lola Avenue. Mrs. Frances Kuyper turned her 2-story home into a .. well, a mini-cake museum.. No use talking about it, you need to see it. But she is threatening to move the whole thing to Branson, MO. She has this idea for a giant layer-cake shaped maxi-cake museum there.

First opened in 1994, the museum had over 150 cakes on display -- some up to 65 years old. The decorative frosting is hardened, and bases are made of plastic, not flour. On the East Coast, you can see two rock-hard pieces of Grover Cleveland's 1886 wedding cake at his birthplace in Caldwell, NJ.
