This town that I am reporting is my hometown. In the park in the middle of town is a large statue of a Lifesavers roll. It is said that the creator of the candy is from this town.

As you are coming into the upstate NY town of Gouverneur, north on Rt. 11, you'll come across a giant statue of pepp-o-mint lifesavers, donated in honor of E.J. Nobel, creator of the candy, who resided in the town. And if rap's your thing, you may want to check out the local correctional facility ... famed rapper of the 80s Slick Rick served his debt to society there.
And that's not all! Gouverneur also offers a museum featuring a stuffed two-headed cow. At one time, said cow was floating in formaldehyde, but that was changed in the early 90s.
